STEVE LUKATHER BAND

Začátek festivalu, který potěší především rockově orientovanější příznivce, bude patřit legendárnímu kytaristovi Steve Lukatherovi /TOTO/. Poprvé vystoupil s velkým úspěchem v březnu 2009 se stejnými spoluhráči se vydává na velké evropské turné na podporu nového alba “All’s Well That Ends Well”.

The festival kicks off with something more for the rock fans among you, with legendary guitarist Steve Lukather /TOTO/. He first appeared to critical acclaim in March 2009 and he’s off on a major European tour with the same band members to promote his new album “All’s Well That Ends Well”.

MACEO PARKER

Maceo Parker se stal doslova „miláčkem“ pražského publika hned od svého prvního koncertu v roce 1996. Od té doby nechyběla Praha v seznamu měst téměř každého jeho evropského turné a jeho březnový koncert bude v pořadí již 18. koncertem v rámci APJF. Je tedy téměř nemožné, aby se neobjevil na programu jubilejního 20. ročníku a opět přinesl do Lucerna music baru velkou, a ani časem nezničitelnou, dávku funkové energie.

Maceo Parker immediately became a hit with Prague audiences right from his first concert in 1996. Since that time Prague has been a fixture on practically all his European tours, and his March concert will be his 18th appearance at APJF. So there was no way we could exclude his name from the programme for the jubilee 20th edition of the festival, where he’ll be returning to Lucerna Music Bar bringing a huge dose of his indestructible funk energy with him.

RICHARD BONA GROUP

Richard Bona je také jeden z objevů APJF. S velikým potěšením můžeme pozvat diváky na jeho koncert do příjemného sálu Divadla Hybernia, kde budou „konečně“ moci v sedě plně vychutnat jeho křehkou hudbu.

Richard Bona is also one of our APJF discoveries. We are extremely pleased to invite you to his concert in the pleasant surroundings of the hall at Hybernia theatre, where audiences can “at last” take their seats and fully savour his fragile music.

VICTOR WOOTEN & JD BLAIR "2 Minds – 1 Groove"

Další z oblíbených účinkujících APJF předvede svůj nový projekt 2 Minds – 1 Groove. Jeho předešlé výkony s Bela Fleckem, SMV či vlastním bandem dávají tušit, že půjde o zajímavý večer, ačkoliv na podiu budou pouze dva hudebníci!

Another of the favourites at APJF will be introducing his new project 2 Minds – 1 Groove. If his previous performances with Bela Fleck, SMV and his own band are anything to go by, we’re certainly in for a fascinating evening, even though there’ll only be two musicians on stage!

SOFT MACHINE

Anglická kapela Soft Machine vznikla již v roce 1966 a ztělesňuje velký kus rockové i jazzové historie. Soft Machne patřili k významným kapelám 70. let a k prvním průkopníkům psychedelie a zvukových experimentů. Koncert bude tedy především pro pamětníky této doby, kdy v hudbě vznikalo mnoho nového.

The English band Soft Machine was formed back in 1966 and exemplifies a large chunk of rock and jazz history. Soft Machine was a prominent band during the 1970s and one of the pioneers of psychedelic rock and sound experimentation. Their concert is therefore aimed chiefly at those who remember the era which produced all kinds of innovation in music.

Bubeník Jack DeJohnette, dlouholetý doprovazeč Keith Jarretta, patří již 40 let k nejrespektovanějším bubeníkům a je pravidelně vyhlašován v anketách jako nejlepší jazzový bubeník. Vystoupení jeho kapely bude nesporně správným vyvrcholením jarní části APJF.

Over the past 40 years, Jack DeJohnette, long-time drummer with Keith Jarrett, has become one of the most respected drummers, regularly cited in surveys as the best jazz drummer around today. The appearance of his band will undoubtedly be the fitting culmination of the spring segment of APJF.
